Chicago Day of DotNetNuke 2010The date of the event is fast approaching and I hope you all have your schedule straightened out to attend the Day of DotNetNuke Chicago conference coming up. If not, go ahead and get your hotel booked using our list of hotels with speacial rates on our site.

We’ve been getting great submissions from speakers across the country and even from the neighrboring countries. This event is going to be an awesome one with great content, respected speakers, and wonderful networking opportunities!

I apologize for not being able to publish the details about speakers and sessions just yet, along with my day job and other approaching deadlines I’m working hard on it. Realizing there isn’t excuse for it (plus there are too many speakers and sessions to review), I’ll be able to get together with the team and publish the details early next week on our site.

St. Louis Day of .NET 2010

St. Louis Ameristar Casino and Conference CenterSt. Louis Day of .NET is an annual event for technology enthusiasts organized by the St. Louis .NET user group. This is a third event hosted at Ameristar Casino and Conference Center in St. Charles, MO. Those who are interested in the latest technologies on the Microsoft platform should be here and take advantage of learning some of the latest technologies from novice to expert levels.

You probably have been hearing about the mobile technology being an upcoming trend for consumers lately. And that’s what my employer, R2integrated, has been working with some of the biggest names in the news industry such as Forbes magazine to build out iPhone and iPad applications.

Watch Out Midwest, Day Of DotNetNuke is Coming!

Chicago Day of DotNetNuke ConferenceOver the past several weeks, my good friend also a colleague of mine, Ian Robinson, and I were planning for a free event called Day Of DotNetNuke for the Midwest region.

This event focuses on delivering the most relevant and hands-on sessions for DotNetNuke community from novice to experts for free.

We started with some cool ideas on how to improve the experience of DotNetNuke users but then it ended up in a larger scope of involvement- hosting the Day Of DotNetNuke event.

New CuongDang Site in HTML5 and CSS3!

Brand New and Fresh CuongDang.net site in HTML5 and CSS3If you were my frequently reader on this website, you might have noticed the site wasn’t available for a few months. There were some technical issues with the site and it happened during the transition of my new job with R2integrated, an Internet Marketing and Technology firm, so I didn’t get a chance to follow through with it. I was bumped at first but due to the nature of my paid/full time employment along with many projects already lined up on my queue, I put it aside and it… slid for months.

Well, here you are today with the new and improved website over the course of a few weeks of planning and a few late nights I actually got time to sit down and completed it.

Content Administration Made Easy with Smart Defaults

When approaching a design in DotNetNuke, I often think about how to best translate the design into DotNetNuke skins not only to match the original comps but also allowing people to minimize the administrative time when building or updating their content.

One of the main reasons most people pick a content management system (CMS) for their web projects is to take advantage of the content editing without having a tech savvy resource in-house. But did you know if your design is being developed not using the optimal approach could lead to a more time consuming process of managing your website content?

I have seen many times when clients showed me a way they implemented or made changes to their content using the purchased commercial skins and it was time-consuming.

proLogic, a DotNetNuke 5 Free Skin Package Released

This is a long overdue project since I came on board with the team at R2i. I’ve always wanted to use my knowledge the community has taught me and contributed back by doing similar effort as this free skin package. However, time didn’t seem to allow me to accomplish it since other priorities always pulled me in.

Luckily, I was able to free up some of my time recently to complete this project so everybody can now download to use for free.
